Yep. Molly Hatchet. Stoner Rock. I don't know too much about them, but, when I was a wee lad(like 5), I obsessed over my Dad's huge record collection, and he would let me take out albums, and attempt to draw the covers.(Might explain my present day weirdo-ness).

None were obsessed over as much as Molly Hatchet's realistic "fantasy" album covers. This one especially. I seriously used to just stare at this thing, but, what's not to like when you're 5 yrs old?

I told this story to a friend, so she comes back, a week or two later, and had scored this album for me somewheres. So stoked.

Bonus pic!- A couple of us then decided to try and re-enact what our Dad's were probably doing with an album cover so majestic, and moving. I think Tai, not only captured the spirit, but, the look and feel of the mid-70's. Fuckin' hippy.

Can't wait for this one. If the footage looks like it is from The Discovery Channel camera setup, that's because it is. Travis continually steps it up in snowboarding both with his riding and with the way he films it. Hands down the most well rounded and versatile rider I have ever met hands down. Not too mention he lives to snowboard, which is way more than I can say for most pros. Who else moves to New Zealand full time in the summer?

As you may or may not know, I fancy myself a collector of weird, obscure sweetness. Now, I would say I'm pretty tame when it comes to nerd standards, but my friends, and my most recent Ebay purchase, may provide fuel for debate on this topic. I scored a little something from my brother's & my childhood, we're talkin' M.U.S.C.L.E men. The raddest, weird little toys ever.

To give a little history on this subject, my bro & I had amassed quite an impressive army of these little guys. Only to one day, fall victim to complete M.U.S.C.L.E genocide. When I was 6-7 yrs. old, we were in a really bad car accident with my Mom, leaving our grandparents house for Thanksgiving. Our Muscle-y fellows accompanied us on many trips, as they were easy to transport, due to their compact size. Well, as we were rescued from the wreckage, and all walked away relatively unscathed, our MUSCLE collection perished in a fire-y death on the side of the freeway, along with my Mom's Volkswagon. The firemen(damn them at the time) wouldn't let us near the catastrophe. Crying & watching them all go up in smoke, felt more painful inside, than being at the hospital later, and being forced to pee in a weird bottle, in front of a doctor & female nurse, who were checking us for internal injuries. We did however, have the M.U.S.C.L.E Nintendo game to tide us over the next couple weeks, as we mourned our fallen soldiers.

(Fun Fact- There is a nice hole in the ozone layer right outside Pittsburgh, due to the amount of shitty toy rubber that burned up on the freeway, that fateful day.)

Fast forward to the main point. Ebay. Sweet score. I nabbed two 10 pack cans(sealed-MIB, mind you) on the 'ol auction site. One for me, one for my broseph(X-mas present brah). Big story for such a small piece 'o history. Hell yeah, memories...sniff sniff.

Yep, you read that right. Comic Con. We went to visit my girlfriend Liz's sister & sis's husband, who live in Carlsbad, and the moon and the stars aligned all proper like for the month of July, and gave me the chance to go get my nerd fix at the biggest place on Earth for that. The San Diego Comic Con.

Lemme tell ya, I'm a little biased, cuz I love this shit. But, if you have any sort of nerdiness coursing thru your veins, just waiting to be freed from geek purgatory, and you haven't hit Comic Con before, you're missing out. Shit is fun, funny, nerdy, awesome, stupid all rolled into a four day adventure.(I only went to 2 days, I'm not that bad).

This was my second time going, and I had a blasty blast. I don't partake in 16 sided dice or D&D kinda shit(not that there's anything wrong with that), but I do fancy myself as a small & particular collector of movie props, random toys, and some dope japanese import shit.....hmmm, yeah basically a total fucking nerd. Plus, Kevin Smith was there, and was doing his infamous live Q&A sesh's, which was just amazing. I can listen to that guy talk about anything, which he basically does, all day long. (I video'd that shit. I'll throw a Youtube up later.)

Anywho, I'm gonna quit while I still have some friends, and get on with the hi-lights. Pics!

Made the trek to Buffalo last night to hit up the Sabres free 'In-House Party' at HSBC arena... like 8,500 fans showed up to watch Game 3, which unfortunately was another ineffective offensive showing... thank god for Ryan Miller, otherwise it would have been a complete shit show... not even the $6 beers at the arena were enough to cope with that poor excuse for hockey... the real downer for the night happened at the end of the game, when all these 'fans' starting throwing sodas, beers, pom-poms and shit onto the ice... these are the same 'fans' who talked shit about New York fans not two weeks ago for doing the same thing... cunts... Anyhow, here was the scene...

after a long day of pushing around slush piles and navigating the numerous puddles at Northstar, we shot on over to one of the most legit mexican joints in the North Tahoe area... Casa Baeza over on Bridge Street in downtown Truckee... Noted for its pitchers of margaritas that have been known to slay even the most abitious drinker, I was definitely stoked to see what this scene was all about...

our friendly drink slinger hyped this place up even more, by saying they housed 125 of 835 known varieties of tequila... however the one he boasted the most about had a delicious little treat chilling inside.....

straight up one of the last things I would have expected to see at the bottom of a bottle... and to think I was sitting next to a clique of dudes who all claim to have ate one of these (verified by the barkeep).... gnarly.

I was invited by Danchak and Volcom to go on a Outerwear Developmental meeting at Snowbird this past week. I got to meet and chill with some of the best guys ever such as Jaimie Lynn, Iguchi, Erik Leines etc... we got there and there was very little snow, but then a couple days later we got blessed with about 18" of new overnight.. here is some pics.

This was the scene at Logan Airport...delays...delays...Danchak got at it pretty hard " they just go down way too easy!"

Upon arrival we realized how bare this MF was.

They built a fuckin 1.4million dollar tunnel to take you to the back side of the mtn.. Dutch loved it!

Our final day on the hill, 18" plus on baldy, nice, except for the rocks below that ruined a lot of boards, ask danchak and Billy Anderson!

We were greeted by the 40mph wind gusts the weather channel had warned us about earlier in the day, and once we arrived on the scene in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the phrase 'totally fucked' came to mind-

Full on vinyl / embroidery shop... To trick your truck of course....

This place has EVERYTHING... 3 tiers of ninja Swords, soft-core skin flicks, a chrome shop, leather outlet, video game arcade, life sized stuffed animals (creepy), animal pelts (creepier), and all sorts of tied dyed t-shirts screened with various graphics of wolves/bald eagles/bears etc....

threw one of my best contests of the year last Sunday.... the weather was dope: 65 degrees, blazing sun, with some sick riding... spent about $200 of a depleted budget on some new features, and the kids went off on the scene... the whole idea was to test their creativity on some shit they hadn't seen before... a challenge to some, but all in all saw some pretty good stuff, especially when you consider half of these kids only ride two days a week... some photos from the deal-

Are there any hippies anymore? I haven't seen many. All you see are tight clothes small glasses wearing fixed bike riding fags around. Maybe they are the new hippies. They shop at the same thrift stores but instead of baggy the gear is just hella tight. "Yo, dude. We ain't trying to look at your balls today. Take your little sisters Capris off."

The one thing about them nerds is that when you run into a place like that Satellite Diner in Spokane, the fucking food kills. Like the hippies run the infamous Amy's Place in BFLO or the BENDIX Diner in NYC, the hipsters can serve up a fucking killer plate. I was absolutely amazed how good my Chicken Fried Chicken Platter was. It was so so banging, I woke up at the crack ass of dawn to eat it again with some eggs the next morning.

Oh yeah, that night before this asshole came through to ruin our meals. I was like, "Is that a fucking dude?" Apparently he was.
Asshole. Go take your fucking faggot ass and go sit on a hydrant. How he slipped past the bouncer, I have no idea.
